Come We Fly
We say
Back in November, we introduced you to the soulful and brooding soundscapes of east London’s Chinwe on the gorgeously rich and jazz-tinged single, Paranoia. Having caught the attention of Jamz Supernova at 1Xtra and Tom Robinson at BBC Introducing, as well as further tastemaker support from Complex and Wonderland for her debut Scar Tissue EP, Paranoia marked the first entry to her upcoming, yet-to-be-named second EP. Now back with her next instalment, Come We Fly sees Chinwe continues to indulge in introspection and self-reflection as she grapples with the demise of a romantic relationship. Backed by a warm and echoing synth melody, a soulful groove and downtempo electronic production, Chinwe’s honeyed vocals offer a tender glimpse into her emotions in this gorgeous number. Early support has come from Metal, Kaltblut, Stereofox and more online sites. Deserving of mellow and laid-back downtempo and soulful editorial playlists at DSPs, we reckon this sublime number is perfect for chilled and specialist plays at Radio, 1Xtra, Capital Xtra and Kiss too.
