Legacy
We say
Inspired by Serge Gainsbourg, Air, Weyes Blood, and The Beach Boys, Legacy is the latest single from the Norwegian duo The Other End. It’s been just over a month since we featured their Laurel Canyon-inspired single California Dreamer, and this time the duo have produced a Chamber pop sound with a French twist. With its retro 70s pop vibe, supported by strings, trombone and airy guitars, the track is a sumptuous and melancholic ode about leaving some kind of legacy behind. Released today (21 April), the song is the final single to be released from their forthcoming (May) debut album, The Sun Will Do You Good, They Said. Since we first featured them in 2018, we are still constantly blown away by the beautiful, haunting vocal of Ida Knoph-Solholm and the rich sound of musicianship on offer with each new release. Tastemaker support has come from NPR and online blogs like High Clouds and Mp3Hugger, as well as at home in Norway from radio station NRK P3. One to watch.
