worth it
We say
Back in 2021, we were completely enamoured by US indie bedroom pop-act girlhouse, aka Lauren Luiz, and it wasn’t just us either. Tastemakers like Earmilk, The Line of Best Fit, Under the Radar, Steve Lamacq (6 Music) and Jack Saunders (Radio 1) all sung her praises and supported her debut ep the girlhouse ep and the second ep. Last year, girlhouse followed it up with the third ep that continued to show off her lush indie sound and storytelling while building on her early support with plays at Radio 1 and 6 Music, editorial playlist additions at Spotify and Apple Music and continued support at online blogs, including the Line of Best Fit, Earmilk, DIY and Notion. Worth It is her first single of 2023, and it’s another blinder, deeply atmospheric, full of progressive energy and cacophonous moments. Early support has come from Dummy, Wonderland, 1883 MAG, Atwood Mag and When The Horn Blows, to name just a few. Deserving of spins on 6 Music and on specialist shows at Radio 1, worth it is another great addition to her catalogue, and we can’t wait to hear what’s next.
