Within thirty seconds of listening to Red Wine by Cork-based singer-songwriter SAL, we were entranced by her beautiful vocals and heartfelt lyricism. Originally hailing from County Kildare, SAL has spent her recent years in Cork, creating and performing with local musicians. Her first three singles, Bullet In The Heart, Everything and Merry Go Round, received a warm welcome from Irish radio and music media with November 2022’s Merry Go Round going to No.1 on the Irish iTunes charts - all whilst staying wholly independent. Released tomorrow (24 February), Red Wine merges the foundations of country, soul and pop to deliver an emotional ode of the highest order. Deserving of editorial placements on new release programming and country/folk playlists at DSPs, Red Wine is a song that marks her out as a talented artist and one to keep an eye on in 2023. Having toured and worked with many Irish acts, including Declan O’Rourke, Aimee, Mick Flannery, The Stunning, Luka Bloom and Wyvern Lingo, to name just a few, SAL is planning shows to accompany further releases this year. For fans of Phoebe Bridgers, Stevie Nicks and Anais Mitchell.
