I Guess I’m Changing
We say
Someone is the moniker of Dutch/British composer, producer and visual artist Tessa Rose Jackson. Through her art and music, she tells science-fiction inspired stories wrapped in dreamy, emotionally rich, psych-pop soundscapes. Last Friday, she released her second album Owls - an album based on a movie script she wrote after a US road trip and features 11 phenakistoscopes (animation discs) that she designed herself. It’s an album that sees Someone draw influence from Air’s space pop and combines this with elements of trip-hop and the songwriting of Feist and Sharon Van Etten. It's an absolute delight, thoroughly immersive and emotionally rich. This stirring and gorgeous ode about rediscovering yourself is the final single to be taken from the album and accompanied by a stunning sci-fi visual directed by David Spearing. Watch here. Previous singles have received support across 6 Music with plays from Lauren Laverne, Radcliffe & Maconie and Cerys Matthews, who recently invited her in for a live session. Tastemaker support has come from NME, Clash, Prog Magazine and numerous Dutch publications. The now London-based artist is planning a UK and European tour for later this year, but before that will tour the Netherlands in May.
