Oozing confidence and drenched in hooky new wave vibes, Modern Strange Love is the brilliant new release from Dutch duo Pol. Formed by siblings Ruben and Matthijs Pol, the brothers have already caught the attention of the Independent, Crack, Clash, and So Young for their earlier singles and are now ready to take it to the next level with this synth-pop gem. Think Depeche Mode meets Bronski Beat and the Pet Shop Boys, and you’ll have a good feel of the sound and the infectious nature of this effortlessly cool number. Deserving of plays on Radio 1, Radio 2 and 6 Music, Modern Strange Love has already picked up DSP support from Spotify NL, but expect this to be added to more playlists over the coming weeks. Outside of producing their music, Pol have created music for fashion brands (Louis Vuitton) and modelled for Saint Laurent, Dior, Gucci, Fendi and others. Having played shows in Amsterdam and Paris, the duo will perform at Hit The City in Eindhoven, NL, tomorrow night (22 October). No news yet of when they will be coming to the UK, but we hope it won’t be long.
