We say

From infectious energy and soulful chords to its soft, woozy vocals, Bricknasty’s music combines elements of R&B, hip-hop and jazz. It all began in Ballymun at the beginning of 2020 as a lockdown project and has, over the past year, developed into a full band consisting of Fatboy (singer/guitarist), Korey Thomas (drummer), Dara Abdurahman (bassist), Louis Younge (multi-instrumentalist) and producer Skidmark. At the end of last year, they performed at Other Voices and since then supported Cordae and Maverick Sabre. Released on Friday, Ina Crueler is the band’s first taste of music recorded together as a band. A tale of traumatic family relationships, redemption and fear of grief to come, the track is a sublime fusion of hip-hop, jazz, spoken word and R&B and marks a perfect introduction to those of you who are new to the band. For fans of Ezra Collective, Kamasi Washington and Alfa Mist.
