Therapist
We say
Named as BBC Radio 1 Introducing ‘Track of the Week’ this week, Therapist is the latest release from 23 year old rising Welsh singer-songwriter Edie Bens. The London-based artist grew up on a farm in Wales and found solace in lyricism at a young age. When she was 18, she moved to Brighton to hone her sound and storytelling. Inspired by the likes of Maggie Rogers and Holly Humberstone, Edie has spent the past year writing and collaborating with Flyte, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Josh Scarbrow (Arlo Parks), Jonny Coffer (FKA Twigs), and Burke Reid (Courtney Barnett). Plus, she performed alongside Tom Walker, Howl & The Hum, Morgan Harper Jones, The Felice Brothers, Louis Dunford and COIN. This gorgeous track is her second single on Glassnote and is shaping her as an artist to keep an eye on for 2023. Watch the video here. Tastemaker support for the track has come from BBC Wales (Huw Stephens), Spotify (Fresh Finds, Equal), Apple Music (NMD, Alt-Pop, Breaking Pop), Amazon Music (Brand New UK), VEVO (New Alt Pop), and The Line Of Best Fit. Later this week (6 October), Edie will join Tom Chaplin on his extensive tour across the UK and play more festival slots at Neighbourhood Festival, Live at Leeds and SWN Festival in Cardiff.
