Wild & Free
We say
Avid readers will know we are big fans of 24 year old Essex-based Americana/pop/rock singer-songwriter Roisin O'Hagan, having featured her previous releases Sunset Valley and Road From Nevada. Both tracks showed she had a natural flair for creating infectious country-pop crossover songs, which drew praise and support from Countryline, Absolute Country, BBC Introducing, BBC Essex and Spotify (Very Nearly Nashville). Released today (15 July), Wild & Free is her third single from her forthcoming debut EP, and it’s gorgeous. With its carefree and honest lyrics about newfound love, the song oozes a confident charm and a rousing chorus that hints at Sheryl Crow, Counting Crows and Taylor Swift inspirations, all wrapped up in an air of Britishness. The track is perfect for new country and country crossover playlists at DSPs. Deserving continued radio support from the above stations, we reckon this would also sound great on specialist shows at Radio 2 and 6 Music. One to watch.
