Riding a synth-heavy production filled with warming tones and hazy melodies is the debut single from Volleyball, a music duo and multi-disciplinary creative brand founded by Irish artists Christian Tierney and Cian 'Duigy' Duigan. The two artists met over five years ago while touring as photographers with some of the biggest artists and bonded over a mutual love and taste in music, art and fashion. When the pandemic struck, they returned to Dublin from LA and decided to work on music together. With its sun-drenched vibes, dreamy hooks and infectious groove, Midsummer is ripe for playlist features on dreamy summer editorial playlists at DSPs. Ahead of the release today (8 July), Volleyball also announced they have teamed up with celebrated British jeweller Katie Mullally to design and produce a collection of luxury hallmarked pieces in gold and silver, starting with a Volleyball icon pendant necklace. At the start of this month, the duo played their first festival show with a DJ set at Dublin’s Longitude festival and are currently in the process of booking more. With their blend of R&B and dream pop sounds, alongside their creative and brand vision, Volleyball is an act we believe you should keep an eye on.
