Driver
We say
Upon hearing Driver for the first time, we were instantly moved by the sheer beauty of the rich orchestration, lush instrumentation and touching vocals of this intimate offering from electronica/alternative project The Sei. Consisting of Irish/Swedish duo Stace Gill and Maria Nilsson Waller alongside the production of Ross Dowling (Talos, James Vincent McMorrow), The Sei continue to tell the AI story of a robot that was moved for the first time by music in their previous single/video Sentient. It’s an exquisite telling, backed by a majestic soundscape and visuals. Watch the stunning video here. The Sei have seen their previous music feature on editorial playlists at Spotify and Apple Music, but it is on TV that their music has shined. Their debut Metroma featured on BBC/Hulu’s Normal People and this month’s Sky’s The Rising, while Let It All Go will feature on BBC/Hulu’s Conversations with Friends next month. We expect that Driver will only heighten the demand for their music for sync opportunities as this seems tailor-made for screens large or small. All in all, this is just a beautiful piece of music that deserves your attention.
