Premiered on Chris Hawkins 6 Music show, Shame is the new single from Devon-born singer-songwriter Fable. Having re-launched her career last year after five years away with the haunting RotD-featured Orbiting, Fable is back with her best track to date, in our opinion. At its heart, it’s a disturbing and uneasy track, full of dark synths and otherworldly sounds that gradually build into a lush and expansive melancholic pop ode about the nature of shame and the state of society right now. It’s absolutely sumptuous, and a must for fans of Fever Ray and Goldfrapp. Accompanying the track is the powerfully hyper-fake video directed by Matt Hutchings – watch here. With tastemaker support from 6 Music, Radio X, Apple Music, The Guardian, Independent, Rolling Stone and Clash, among others, Fable is finally ready to drop her debut album, and we can’t wait to hear it.
