We’re seriously impressed with this sumptuous offering from German-based experimental R&B maverick Jeannel. Riding a minimalist electronic production filled with dreamy synth tones, lush harp flourishes and a soft beat, Jeannel’s tender and almost ethereal vocals tell the tale of human desire for intimacy and love over sexual objectification and disconnection. It’s absolutely gorgeous and deserves your immediate attention. Taken from her forthcoming Black Sesame EP, ICMIB is perfect for new and leftfield R&B playlists at DSPs and has been confirmed for features at the Line of Best Fit and Resident Advisor. Next week, Jeannel will drop a stunning live video, shot at Teatro Margarita Xirgu in Buenos Aires, on the 17 March and the following day will perform in London at Piano Smithfield. We love the grand ambition of her sound and vibe, all of which bodes well for her EP later this year.
