Sorry That You’re Mine
We say
Last September, we introduced you to London-based SOFY and her gorgeous debut Strawberry Milkshake. The vibrant and witty observational track was named BBC Radio 1’s Introducing Track of the Week and drew praise from Greg James, Clara Amfo, Melvin, Ricky & Charlie, as well as multiple plays from Jack Saunders at Radio 1. Since then, the Leicester-born artist has released a string of singles from her debut EP, Bored In Colour (Pt.1), culminating in this bittersweet gem. Along the way, she has picked up tastemaker support from the Earmilk, Notion, Wonderland, The Line of Best Fit, Colors and Spotify, to name just a few. Produced by Bad Sounds, Sorry That You’re Mine focuses lyrically on toxic relationships, backed by downtempo electronics and a soulful beat. It’s an absolute gem, and you wouldn’t be able to tell, but this was also the first track she ever wrote. Earlier this week, she played her debut headline show at the Social in London, which had been sold out eight weeks in advance and has plans for more shows soon.
