Graduation
We say
LA-based Morgan St. Jean first burst onto the scene back in 2015 when she dropped Addicted while studying pop music at the University of Southern California. Having made an impression with online blogs and Soundcloud, Morgan continued to hone her craft over the next couple of years and collaborated with producer Borgeous on Famous in 2018. In 2020, she co-wrote and featured on Loud Luxury’s platinum single Aftertaste and last year went viral on TikTok (10m+ views) with her track Not All Men. Co-written with Upsahl, Graduation is the first single to be taken off her upcoming debut Rich Man mixtape. Full of rising synth melodies, dramatic drums, and dark electronic twists, Graduation is a cheeky and sumptuous pop anthem, with hints of Lana Del Rey, Dua Lipa and Banks. Upon release last week, the track was added to editorial playlists at Spotify (SALT), YouTube Music (Release, Pop Fresh) and Soundcloud (Fresh Pressed, Hot Pop Sizzle), but we expect this will feature on many more soon. With tastemaker support from Wonderland, iHeartRadio, and the above already behind her, Graduation is the perfect introduction to Morgan St. Jean’s debut mixtape and marks her as an artist to watch in 2022.
