Starting our final week of Ones To Watch 2022 is the emerging singer, songwriter, and producer Michael Aldag. Growing up in West Kirby, Michael’s love for music was inspired by his grandmother at a young age that led him to sing in choirs and then in his mid-teens, he discovered the world of music production. Now at the age of 20, his observational lyricism about the trials and tribulations of youth, alongside his experimental and anthemic pop, has seen him build up a loyal online following of over 750k followers on social media with over 650k of them on TikTok. Along the way, he has caught the attention of Molly King on Radio 1 with his two singles, Ghosted, and this sublime number, as well as support from across BBC Introducing. Notion, The Line of Best Fit, Sunday Times, Bido Lito, and MTV are all fans, while Sunday Brunch has named him as One to Watch 2022. DSP support has come from both Spotify and Apple Music with additions to their editorial playlist, and Amazon Music has chosen him as one of their Artist Spotlight features. In August and September, Michael played a run of sold-out shows in Liverpool and London and is currently planning more shows for the early part of 2022. With a burgeoning following and a knack for writing relatable lyrics for Gen-Z, Michael has established himself as one to watch in 2022.
