We say
Rounding off this week’s Ones To Watch 2022 is emerging Brazilian-born artist Alissa Salls, aka Alissic. Since bursting onto the scene at the tail end of 2020 with her sublime blend of acoustic pop and experimental electronics in Like, the 23 year old former model has cultivated a burgeoning following with over 500k combined social media fans. It’s not just fans on social media either, with tastemakers like the NME, Clash, Dork, BEAT, Equate, and Vogue Italia all singing her praises, along with Jack Saunders and Annie Mac at Radio 1. She then followed it up with this addictive slice of otherworldly pop last year after signing to the Ministry of Sound. Further tastemaker acclaim followed, including a Jack Saunders’ Next Wave track, a Future Sounds play by Clara Amfo and a BBC Introducing Tune of the Week. While, DSP support has come from Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. Now, what we love about Alissic is her ability to draw us into her world with her dark pop overtones, whimsical flourishes and infectious nature. With more music scheduled to be released this year and live shows planned, Alissic is set to entrance many more with her dark pop sounds in 2022.
