We’ve always been impressed with the pop sound of artist and producer Blakey, and with this melancholic yet uplifting pop anthem, he has done it again. Powered by driving beats and layers upon layers of harmonies, Home Town Girl is an ode to the loves of his youth and a hopeful look to the future. It’s a sumptuous release, full of hooks, glittering synths and a subtle ’80s nostalgia feel to it. Plus, it would be perfect for new pop and feel good playlists. His music to date has already amassed over 20m combined streams, placements across Spotify UK & US editorial playlists, and radio play from BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Radio 2 and Radio X. Further tastemaker praise has come from Noisey, Clash, Notion and TMRW with sync placements on adverts and TV shows, including Love Island UK.  Blakey has recently signed to producer Matt Wills and live agent Sol Parker’s label Life Is Beautiful, home to Tim Gallagher, Noaah&Tysho, Ellysse Mason, Inés Rae and The Hara. Home Town Girl marks a new chapter in Blakey’s brand of brooding pop, and we can’t wait to hear what’s next.
