boundary issues
We say
It wasn’t long ago (last month, in fact) that we featured fast-rising US bedroom-pop act girlhouse, and today (1 October) she is back with her aptly titled the second ep. It follows the release of her critically acclaimed debut the girlhouse ep in May this year, which featured RotD tracks loaded gun and pretty girl in la and found support at Spotify, Tidal, BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, Dummy, the Independent, Notion, and Earmilk among others. Filled with euphoric and anthemic hooks boundary issues is the opening track to her new collection. It’s a blindingly smart blend of lo-fi indie-rock, alt-pop magic and ’90s alternative nostalgia. Expect to hear this on alternative playlists across the board soon. Plus, don’t be surprised if you hear this or other tracks from the ep synced to American TV series her tracks have that picture-perfect feel for setting a scene or mood. On par with Wolf Alice for contemporary brilliance, rock panache and songwriting abilities, Lauren Luiz, aka girlhouse, is a shining light in the alternative music scene. We believe she has everything to become a major player in the years ahead.
