I Kissed You Politely
We say
Emerging London-based soul-pop artist Kitty Montague has been steadily building up a reputation for her blend of savvy pop sensibilities and soul-drenched vocals over the last year. She has already caught the attention of the BBC Introducing Kent, Notion, Lefuturewave, Sofar Sounds, Flex and Girl.com for her previous releases. She is now back with I Kissed You Politely, a follow-up to her last single and RotD-featured track Kiss Chase, but this time confronts the blurred lines between consent and coercion lyrically. Produced by Jack Gourlay (Tom Odell, Rhodes, Caitlyn Scarlett), the track gives an understated R&B flush to its pop beginnings, with its tropical guitar riff and pulsing synths mixing with soulful, haunting backing vocals. Perfect for pop and new pop editorial playlists, alongside new release programming this Friday (10 September), I Kissed You Politely is another strong addition to Kitty’s growing catalogue of songs. This Sunday (12 September), she will be performing at Ecclestone Yards in London, so if you are free and in the area, we recommend you pop on down to catch her perform at noon.
