Back in April last year, we introduced you to emerging Irish singer-songwriter Carrie Baxter and her gorgeous neo-soul jammer Love Me Better. Since then, the London-based artist has quickly become known for her dreamy jazz-infused melodies and raspy vocals. Her singles to date have been played on Radio 1, BBC Introducing, 6 Music, Jazz FM, RTÉ 2fm, Beat 102 103, WLR FM and Red FM. Further tastemaker support has come from Spotify, COLORS, Nialler9, Mahogany, Telegraph and more. This toe-tapping bop with its funky guitar line and Bossa Nova-esq groove is her latest single. It made an immediate impact at Spotify last Friday by featuring on their New Music Friday UK playlist and has since picked up praise from Notion, District Magazine, Hot Press and Fizzy Magazine, plus named as Tara Stewart’s Track of the Week on her RTÉ 2fm show. In October/November Carrie will head out on UK/IE tour and will headline a show at Peckham Audio on 22 October, so mark this down in your diary now.
