Sad Lonely Groove
We say
Mazey Haze is the moniker of 21 year old Amsterdam-based artist Nadine Appeldoorn, and this gorgeous slice of blissed-out dream-pop is her debut single. Growing up surrounded by music from ABBA, Tears for Fears, Talk Talk, Fleetwood Mac and the Bee Gees, Nadine started writing songs at age 13 before recording full demos on her laptop by the age of 16 - experimenting with different genres, sounds, decades and production elements. Now ready to share her creative output, Sad Lonely Groove sees Nadine reflecting on a moment of her life where time felt like it was standing still. With its atmospheric synths, funk-filled bass lines, and skittering percussion, the track has already made an impression at Spotify with additions to editorial playlists (NMF Netherlands/ Belgium, Indie Festival), as well as at online tastemakers Clash, Notion, and Compact Cassette. Plus, there has been radio support in Holland with plays at 3FM, NPO Radio 2 and KINK. A reflective, insightful and wistful indie-pop jammer. One to watch.
