loaded gun
We say
US bedroom pop act girlhouse, aka Lauren Luiz, has been creating quite a stir over recent months with their singles the fatalist, knuckle tattoo and now this, their most recent single, loaded gun. Dummy, Independent, Notion, Wonderland, Atwood and many more tastemakers have sung their praises about the intimate lyrics and blend of washed-out guitar-led production with indie/dream pop vibes. Tidal named them their ‘Rising Artists of the Week’, while Spotify has featured them in countless editorial playlists, including Ultimate Indie, NMF UK, Hot New Bands and All New Indie. Plus, Steve Lamacq (6 Music) and Jack Saunders (Radio 1) are fans too. Their debut EP, the girlhouse ep, is out on 14 May, and there are tentative live plans afoot for the UK this autumn. Alongside her work as girlhouse, the Portland-born, Nashville-based artist and actor also performs in indie-folk trio WILD, which has amassed nearly 50m streams. One to watch. For fans of Phoebe Bridgers, Soccer Mommy and Snail Mail.
