We say
Continuing our Ones To Watch 2021 is Scottish newcomer Bow Anderson. The Edinburgh-born, London-based artist first caught our attention when she burst out onto the scene with the Motown-inspired pop jam Sweater earlier this year. The track quickly gained the attention of Scott Mills at Radio 1 (Tune of the Week) and Elton John on Apple 1, as well as praise from the Line of Best Fit, Guardian and Evening Standard, and has now amassed over 7m streams. She followed it up with the moody soul-pop anthem Heavy and then this slick and infectious retro pop tune. Along the way, tastemakers like the Observer, Notion, Dork, Scotland Sunday Mail and the Scottish Sun have all sung her praises, with VEVO DSCVR tipping her as one of their Artists To Watch too. Further support came from Radio 1 with spins from Mollie King (Best New Pop), Huw Stephens (BBC Introducing) and BBC Scotland. With over 18m combined streams, the former trampolinist, who had dreams of representing Team GB until a freak accident ended her career, has come a long way since finding her voice in rehabilitation and moving to London to study music at BIMM. Her soulful tone and playful blend of classic soul and modern R&B, along with honest lyrics and a determination to succeed makes her one artist to watch out for in 2021. Felix Jaehn and Cheat Codes have already taken notice and included her as a vocalist on their recent single I Just Wanna, so watch out for more music and live dates from this rising star next year.
