Undecided (with Marie Dahlstrøm)
We say
20 year old producer and multi-instrumentalist Conor Albert started making beats and playing guitar at the age of eight. He peddled his early material to friends in the playground and as he grew older into his teens explored electronic music and then the jazz-infused sounds of FKJ and Jordan Rakei. His early demos on Soundcloud amassed over 1m streams and led him to collaborate with artists James Vickery, Carmody and Marie Dahlstrøm. Last Friday (31 July), he dropped his debut EP Collage 1 after a string of single releases, including this soul-blessed, jazz-flecked number featuring Marie. With additions to playlists Sweet Soul Sunday, Good Energy, Riffs & Runs and Your Office Stereo, he’s quickly found a home for his sublime sounds on Spotify, including a recent New Music Friday UK addition for EP track Tell Me. With no shows planned for the foreseeable future, you can watch the live version of Undecided (with Marie Dahlstrøm), filmed before the lockdown at his sold-out debut live show at the Servant Jazz Quarters in Dalston, here. Smooth, slick and simply gorgeous.
