Growing Up
We say
This bright and buoyant blast of expansive indie-rock is from Club Paradise. For the past year or so the Newcastle four-piece have been making positive waves across the North East. The school friends have already caught the attention of tastemakers like Clash and Shortlist, along with solid support from BBC Introducing and Radio X (John Kennedy) for their singles. Just before lockdown, they played their biggest hometown show to date, selling out Cobalt Studios in Newcastle, having previously supported Vistas, Apre, Larkins, Vant, Saint Raymond and Kashmere over the last year. Recorded remotely and separately in isolation for KIDS Records (The Wombats, Band of Horses, Paul Hartnoll (Orbital), Kyte), Growing Up is the uplifting new single from the lads. It’s their most confident number yet, showing off brilliant musicianship and the sort of polished grown-up pop sound that deserves to take them to the bigger stage. One to keep tabs on.
