Let Go
We say
We’re keen supporters of Lucia & The Best Boys, with this splendid song being yet another track following on from City Of Angels, featured in February. In fact, our love for the Glaswegian indie quartet stretches back a couple of years now. That was when they dropped the excellent Summertime. Since then, plenty of key tastemakers have supported the band with airplay coming from Jack Saunders at Radio 1 alongside Annie Mac, Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart, plus Radio X’s John Kennedy, Radcliffe & Maconie at 6 Music, and leading Scottish broadcasters Vic Galloway and Janice Forsyth. NME premiered the video for this latest track on Wednesday, and the song itself oozes pure quality. It was recorded in Los Angeles alongside Phantom Planet’s frontman Alex Greenwald, whom they met at a party after SXSW a few years ago. With a passionate, heartfelt vocal delivered by Lucia Fairfull over a beautifully produced soundbed that exudes the quality of both Mazzy Star and London Grammar, this is pure class from start to finish, richly deserving of mainstream attention beyond any narrow categorisation. You'll want to this on repeat after that very first play, believe us. Get obsessed.
