Find Another Way
We say
South London artist Love Ssega has steadily been building up a wealth of industry and tastemaker supporters for his unique and thoughtful brand of pop, lyrically and musically. He can count Radio 1 specialists Anne Mac, Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart among his fans as well as Lauren Laverne at 6 Music and the likes of Q Magazine, Variety, and Notion too. We last featured him back in November 2019 with the intimate and honest number Lonely Dancing from his Defiant EP after he received a BPI Music Export Growth Scheme grant. Now back with a seven track follow up EP called Celebration, set to be released on 12 June, Love Ssega has created a body of work calling for change in these times of need and inequality. With its slow Caribbean beat and soft synths, Find Another Way allows Ssega to lay bare these inequalities in the current system and says, now - particularly today in memory and honour of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement - we need to find another way. Thought-provoking pop.
