Bourbon and the Truth
We say
It’s been a couple of years since we featured singer-songwriter Pete Gardiner here on RotD with his tracks Pretty Smiles, All These Things and Idols. Having left his previous label, the now Kent-based (originally from Newtownards, Northern Island) is back with a fresher, more Americana-tinged sound than before in this his latest ode. Written from the point of view of recovering alcoholic desperately in search for a reason not to relapse in this chaotic world, Bourbon and the Truth is a frenetic and anxiety-driven offering set to a rousing beat. Previous radio support has come from Janice Long at Radio 2 and Robert Elms at BBC Radio London, while tastemaker praise has come from the Independent, Paste, and Essentially Pop among others. He is currently seeking a recording and publishing deal for future releases, as well as a live agent and if interested, you can catch him perform in London at the Slaughtered Lamb next Wednesday (5 February) or at the Great Escape festival in May.
