For our final RotD of 2019, we have a woozy little treat for you from indie-electronic duo Henry Eastman and Felix Rashman, aka Hi Frisco. Named after a greeting from the novel, Atlas Shrugged, the duo met after running in the same circles in London as a songwriter, session musician and guitarist for the likes of Say Lou Lou, Chloe Howl and Sunset Sons (Eastman), and as a studio engineer and producer (Rashman). They instantly hit it off creatively and decided to build a studio together with another friend in east London and make music, with Felix taking on more of a producer role. Snowfall is their first endeavour together, which packs a wobbly, disorientating structure but pairs it with hypnotic melodies in the vein of MGMT and Flaming Lips – it’s an intense and intoxicating listen. Premiered on FAULT Magazine last month, the track has picked up further online tastemaker support from the likes of the Line of Best Fit, the Most Radicalist, Atwood Magazine, Indie Is Not A Genre and many more. A dreamy and infectious electronic psyche taster.
