If you haven’t heard of alt-pop girl band Nasty Cherry yet, we are not entirely sure where you have been in 2019. Handpicked by Charli XCX and signed to her Vroom Vroom Recordings, the half UK-half US girl group has been creating a buzz on social media with their single releases this year, including the gorgeous Cure and Ladyhawke inspired Win and the '80s infused ditty Live Forever. Following the release of their Netflix docu-series I’m With The Band: Nasty Cherry earlier this month, which followed the band from being formed to releasing their debut single and everything in between, the group have now dropped their debut EP Season 1. Featuring this empowering and sultry indie alt-pop banger, it quickly caught the attention of Spotify (23 NMF) and Apple Music for their new release programming last week. Tastemakers Paper, Rolling Stone, Nylon, Clash, and DIY are among the many of their admirers, and with a UK/US tour kicking off next February, we expect more will follow. Part sassy '80s girl pop and part rebellious '90s alternative, Nasty Cherry are the new girl group with lashings of attitude ready to take on the globe.
