We say
Shanghai Blues are an alternative rock four-piece from Walthamstow, consisting of childhood friends Chalky (vocals, bass), Reece (guitar), James (guitar) and Mike (drums). Since forming in 2017, the lads have picked up key tastemaker praise from the likes of Clash, Evening Standard, and NME among others, alongside streaming support at Spotify (Hot New Bands/Indie List) and Apple Music (Best of the Week) for previous releases. The north east London band have just dropped this anthemic blast of stadium-filling alternative rock that has already seen regional BBC Introducing presenters, Abbie McCarthy (Kent) and Jess Iszatt (London), supporting the track, as well as Amazing Radio. This Saturday (21 September), the group will be headlining the Moth Club in Hackney as they kickstart their nine-date UK tour, having previously supported Palace, Marsicans, Theme Park and The Rifles. This is big, bold and confident rock, with enough stadium hooks to keep any indie rock fan happy.
