Without Warning
We say
Singer-songwriter Billy Blond has been hotly-tipped by the likes of Clash, Attitude and Hunger, and had early support from BBC Introducing, thanks to a set of honest, heart-on-his-sleeve compositions that showcase his distinctive, soulful voice. Now comes debut EP titled Glow Up, with tracks written and recorded in his hometown of Margate. He’s been on quite some journey of personal lows in the past few years, dealing with the fallout of losing a previous record deal, struggling with his sexuality, self-medication, and the heartbreaking experience of losing ones eyesight. However it’s a series of battles that’s arguably now made him stronger than ever. We can imagine that seeing and hearing him perform live will be something very special indeed, so mark October 9 in your diary now, as that’s when he plays a show at the Courtyard Theatre in Hoxton. Without Warning sees him pour everything out. The initial minimalist sound builds layer by layer, drawing you in line-by-line, with a beautifully-restrained vocal and fuss-free production that lets the bold lyrics shine through. Simply gorgeous.
