We say
Xenomania have been at the forefront of unique, quirky British pop for almost 20 years now. One of their finest home-grown talents is Florrie Arnold and here she joins frontwoman Sarah Thompson and producer Toby Scott to become one third of Capulets, the latest exciting project from the acclaimed Kent-based production house. All three have worked separately over the past decade, but it’s no surprise to find them collaborating on new material for this venture, such is their natural chemistry when it comes to creating memorable tracks. This song is one of three nuggets from Act One, the first in a series of EPs that’ll appear during the next year. Written and produced in analogue, to give its sound an authentic, retro polish, it arrived last Friday (September 6) and was immediately seized upon by Spotify UK and Apple Music for playlist inclusion across their services. And deservedly so too. Rammed with hooks, it’s a clarion call for anyone who feels like they’re an outsider, but everyone’s welcome. This is deceptively smart electro-pop from some of the best practitioners in the business.
