Cold Dawn
We say
Released today (6 Sept) is this glorious tune from an artist we have been following for a while now. Named after a character from a US nineties TV show who robbed banks across county lines, County Line Runner is the moniker of singer-songwriter Adam Day. He burst onto the scene last year with his folk-infused, post-punk tracks Hard to Find and Wide Eyes. Early tastemaker support came from BBC’s Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens, RadioX, Beats 1, The Times, Independent and Clash. Having signed to Alex Da Kid's Los Angeles label KIDinaKorner and Polydor earlier this year, Cold Dawn is Adam’s third release on the label. The track starts off slowly with simple synths and builds slowly into a beautifully melancholic number with an ‘80s nostalgic sheen and hints of Springsteen meets The War On Drugs. Later this month, he will play Reeperbahn festival before performing at Wild Paths, SWN and London Calling festivals, having already played Latitude and Moseley Folk festivals this summer. You can catch him in London headlining Colours in Hoxton on 24 October, but until then just bask in this stunning track.
