It’s been a whirlwind twelve months for Barney Artist since we featured the boom-bap sounds of Rose Thorn on RotD. The Forest Gate rapper has released his powerful debut album Home Is Where The Art Is, played a sold-out headline UK tour and supported Tom Misch on an EU+UK tour, as well as been awarded a PRS Momentum Fund for 2019, synced to FIFA 19, and nominated for tomorrow night’s (3 September) AIM Awards as ‘One To Watch’.  Last month, he dropped his brand new Bikes Are Bikes EP featuring productions by Tom Misch, George Kwali, Harvey Gunn, Linden Jay, including this soulful and absolute gem. The EP was a Jamz Supernova EP top 5 and has picked up further radio support from DJ Target, Yasmin Evans, Twin B and Mistajam at 1Xtra, plus plays from Rickie, Melvin & Charlie on Radio 1. With further plaudits for his blend of hip-hop, jazz, electronic and soul from the likes of Fader, Noisey, the Line of Best Fit, Notion, GQ, Clash, Soccer Bible, and i-D, Barney Artist is definitely one to watch.
