If You Want Love
We say
It’s very early days for 17 year old Winchester-based singer-songwriter Emilia Tarrant, but after catching her at the Big Hug Artist showcase at The Great Escape festival earlier this year we were suitably impressed and this debut track doesn’t disappoint. Surrounded by music from a young age, she grew up listening to the likes of Coldplay, Doves and Moby, which inspired her to start playing the piano at the age of 12 and pursue music production at college. Produced and mixed by Danton Supple (Coldplay), If You Want Love is a gorgeous piano-led interpretation of Michigan rapper NF’s 2017 hit. With her emotive and expressive vocals capturing your attention straight from the off, it’s the kind of song that you can easily hear synced to Love Island or an emotional scene in an American TV drama series. Having recently been writing with James Walsh from Starsailor, she is in the process of putting the finishing touches on a number of her own songs for release later this year. Last month she performed shows at the Groucho Club and Houses of Parliament and tonight (15 July) will play The Ned (8.20pm) in London and then the Waiting Room on Wednesday. A raw talent and one to watch.
