I See Red
We say
It’s been just over eighteen months since we last featured Australian duo Geowulf here at RotD and earlier this week they followed up the release of last year's debut album, Great Big Blue, with this gorgeous introspective dream pop number. Taken from their forthcoming second album, My Resignation, the single is the first of a number of collaborations with Justin Parker (Lana Del Rey, Cloves, Bat For Lashes) and it sounds glorious. Written after an argument with her sister, I See Red is a deeply personal record exploring frontwoman Star’s mental health that has already garnered tastemaker praise from the Line of Best Fit, with plenty more online support confirmed too. With over 23m combined streams for their previous tracks, I See Red is perfect for contextual mood/genre editorial playlists at streaming services as well as new release programming. Previous radio spins have come from the likes of Huw Stephens (Radio 1), Lauren Laverne (6Music) and John Kennedy (Radio X) while Clash, Q, Wonderland, BBC Music and Hilly Dilly among others have praised the duo for their music. Next month, you can catch them performing in London at the Waiting Room on 11 June and having caught them at last year’s Reeperbahn festival, we can truly say you won’t be disappointed.
