Little Monster
We say
Next week sees the annual pilgrimage of the music industry's finest to sunny (let’s hope) Brighton for the Great Escape festival. Over the next week, we shall be looking ahead to some of the acts we recommend you should check out. First up, is Miss Sister, who after starting her musical career under her own name – Ida Gratte – had her social media sites hacked and linked to p-rn sites after standing up for women’s rights in her lyrics and statements for #MeToo. Now back with a new name, the Swedish singer-songwriter releases this delicious dose of Scandipop. Written in Berlin, where she is currently working on her debut EP, Little Monster opens with an insidious string hook before blossoming into a gorgeous blend of lavish pop production and bold orchestral flourishes. Expect to see this on new release programming this Friday in Scandinavia as well as new pop streaming playlists. With a number of featured vocal performances for German DJs Klaas and Chris Golds already completed, she is also working closely with emerging artists in the Swedish development system at Talentcoach. You can catch Miss Sister performing live at ÅÄÖ… Sounds Swedish showcase on Saturday 11 May at Door 77.
