Certy is the second single to be lifted from former Marvell Crew member Double S’s upcoming mixtape The Biggest. Featuring fellow Tottenham native and scene heavyweight Skepta on a verse and produced by Silencer, the track shows off Double S’s lyrical prowess with its streetwise narrative and straight-talking rap in this slick grime production. Released at the start of the month with the KC Locke (IAMDDB, Skepta, Yxng Bane) produced video premiering on GRM Daily, as well as being playlisted at MTV Base, Certy was named as Mistajam’s Record of the Week on BBC 1Xtra. Since then the track has been playlisted on Rinse FM and Reprezant while further spins have come from Annie Mac, Toddla T, Dev, DJ Target, Sian Anderson, Big Zuu, Snoochie Shy, Twin B, Sir Spyro, Robert Bruce, DJ Tiiny, Manny Norte, Shortee Blitz, Rude Kid, Rebecca Judd and Julie Adenuga. With a host of other high-profile collaborations to come on his mixtape and tastemaker support from the Dummy, Hunger, Trench, the Independent and Spotify, we reckon Double S is set for a big 2019.
