Next Episode Starts In 15 Seconds
We say
Former Tribes frontman Johnny Lloyd today opens a new chapter in his musical career with the release of this enchanting alternative folk gem. With its pared-back sound and softly strummed guitar melodies it marks a bold departure from his indie rock days and sees fellow labelmate and friend Frank Turner guest on backing vocals. Recorded in north London with producer Nathan Coen and mastered at Abbey Road by Frank Arkwright, Next Episode Starts In 15 Seconds is the title track to his forthcoming debut solo album out in May. This morning, it received its first radio play on Chris Evans' Virgin Radio Breakfast Show where Johnny also spoke to Chris about the album. Expect to see this feature on new release programming later this week as well as in mellow and folk-based curated playlists, plus further radio spins on Radio 1, 6 Music, Radio X and Virgin. On Friday (15 February), you can catch Johnny performing at Omeara in London with She Makes War and Brand New Friend as part of WarChild’s BRITs Week and this summer he is confirmed to play 2000 Trees Festival and Frank Turner’s Lost Evenings 3 Festival in Boston. Having spent 2017/18 writing scores for a variety of film and TV projects (from the Rolling Stones’ The Quiet One film to 2019 feature film Rare Beasts) it’s great to have this talented songwriter back making music for himself again.
