101 FM
We say
North London rapper Little Simz continues to showcase her exquisite storytelling skills in her latest single 101 FM. Following on from her previous single, Offence, which is currently C-listed on Radio 1 and Lauren Laverne’s track of the year, her new track sees a nostalgic Simbi Ajikawo reflect on her journey to music and where she came from in this trippy, 8-bit inspired slice of grime. The song debuted on Julie Adenuga's Beats 1 show and has now been added to their playlist whilst garnering some serious love from tastemakers such as Clash, FADER, Hunger, Wonderland i-D and the Guardian Guide (Single of the Week) among others. She is currently working on her third album, due out early next year, and if this is anything to go by, we can expect Little Simz to continue to push boundaries with her genre-bending sound and deliver more finely crafted narrative nuggets.
