In late October, 23 year old Croydon raised artist Osh’s life changed. A clip of him freestyling over a remix of Burna Boy’s Ye went viral on social media, garnering over a million views in 24 hours. Dotty from 1Xtra then had him come in and perform live on her show and shortly afterwards he was signed to Columbia Records. It’s been a whirlwind month for the south London artist who grew up learning to play piano and violin in his church choir. Last week, he dropped My Yé Is Different to the masses with a new instrumental that has since clocked up over 744k streams on Spotify, having been featured on New Music Friday UK, Who We Be, This Is How We Do It and Afro Bashment editorial playlists. He’s gained huge praise from the likes of Stormzy, Ray BLK, Michael Dapaah and Arsenal FC while further radio support has come from Dev who had Osh on his Radio 1 The 8th show. The video premiered on GRM Daily on Monday and with more airplay to come for this fresh tune and new music in 2019, we reckon this is just the start for this breakout star.
