Brian Deady first came to our attention back in 2015 with the sublime track A Darkness that effortlessly showcased his rich and welcoming soulful voice. Since then, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for the Irishman, who having been signed to a major label to re-release his stunning second album Non-Fiction (which featured one of Ireland’s most-played radio songs of 2016 and a Spotify UK viral chart No.1 hit in Clap Both My Hands) was then dropped by both his label and management last year. Determined to get back to writing music, he packed up his recording gear and moved out to a cave house in the deserts of Spain to reflect and record his new album, Black Diamond, earlier this year. Drawing on inspiration from gospel, blues and American tinged rock, this rousing and unashamedly positive lead single is an absolute delight and has all the right ingredients to become a Radio 2 staple. The Sunday Times recently called it "another fabulous gem from a real talent" and we can't disagree with that. This is a must listen from an artist who feels every word.
