Marius Lauber aka Roosevelt’s 2016 self-titled debut album was a wonderful mix of Ibiza house, disco and electropop that amassed over 35m Spotify streams, as well as garnering praise from the likes of the Guardian, Mixmag, DJ, Pitchfork, WSJ and the Sunday Times among others. His second LP Young Romance, out later this month, looks set to garner the German artist more fans with its euphoric and sun-drenched feels. This funk fuelled, synth delight is his latest song (released yesterday) to be lifted from the album following singles Under The Sun, Forgive (featuring Washed Out) and Getaway. It’s an absolute gem that recalls the sounds of Chic through a synth pop lens and a vitamin D soaked indie vibe. With previous editorial playlist support at Spotify (NMF, Indie Radar, Just Chill), we expect to see Shadows pop up in their playlists, as well as other streaming services soon. Roosevelt will be over in the UK later this year where he will be performing at the Oval Space in London on 8 November.
