Æ MAK is the alias of Aoife McCann, who has been turning heads both at home in Ireland and in the UK with her genre-bending songs and energetic live shows. Earlier this year she was the first artist to be endorsed by Festival Republic’s ReBalance initiative and has since performed at The Great Escape, Latitude and Liverpool Sound City festivals, as well as releasing this bewitching dose of otherworldly alt-pop. Produced by Daniel McIntyre (Lullahush), Love Flush has an almost Bjork-like quality to it as we are taken on a hypnotic journey through lush vocal weavings and cascading synth melodies. BBC 6 Music, Radio X, the Line of Best Fit and Nialler9 are fans whilst the likes of Hot Press, Earmilk, and Joe have all shouted their praise for previous singles, I Walk and Glow. Currently, without a label or publishing deal, she will be performing tomorrow night (4 September) at Paper Dress Vintage in Hackney and if free, we thoroughly recommend you popping down. Hook heavy, leftfield pop at its best.
