Shame
We say
We are big admirers of Dublin-based singer-songwriter Ailbhe Reddy here at RotD, having previously featured her gorgeous singles Distrust and Fingertips. Shame is her latest single and, like the aforementioned songs, totally floored us on the very first listen with her stunning and emotive Celtic vocals shining through. It’s a more up-tempo affair than previous releases as lyrically she tackles the stigma surrounding depression in this beautifully produced alt-pop number. Released last week, the track featured on Spotify’s UK New Music Friday playlist and has garnered tastemaker praise from the likes of the Line of Best Fit, Nialler9 and Hotpress. With over 4m combined streams for her two stunning EP releases, Hollowed Out Sea and Attach To Memory, Ailbhe further shows on Shame why this independent Irish artist is making a name for herself. Next month (4 September) she will be performing a special set at The Social in London and if you are free we recommend you popping down.
