She Wants Me is the super smooth and soulful debut single from emerging Detroit singer-songwriter Apropos. Having grown up in a family with music playing a key part in his upbringing, his father is a church singer and pastor, Apropos decided to embark on a career as a singer at an early age. After featuring on Detroit hip/hop/electronic collective Liquid Monk’s cover version of Anderson .Paak’s Come Down, he caught the attention of Sandy Roberton at Beverly Martel who immediately signed him and brought in young UK producers AZTX to write and produce his debut material. She Makes Me effortlessly blends his gospel style vocals over a glitchy, synth-pop instrumental with a funky guitar melody that’s full of smooth future pop-vibes. It’s an absolute gem, perfect for those late-night grooves, feelgood contextual playlists and of course, any new-pop and future R&B playlists. It’s very early days but this is a serious statement of intent from this young artist and one that we are sure is set to prick up ears both here and across the pond. Simply stunning.
