Honey
We say
Opening with a dirty and almost PJ Harvey-esque guitar riff, Honey is the sensual lead track from 21-year-old singer-songwriter Bryony Williams' second EP, Conscious. Drawing on influences from Wolf Alice to Marika Hackman, the track weaves effortlessly between dreamy alt-pop vibes and indie-rock soundscapes as Bryony’s hypnotic vocals tells the tale of a one night stand with a girl. It’s an absolute gem and worthy of any new rock or indie playlist. Having supported the likes of Isaac Gracie, Mellow Gang, Stevie Parker and Hazel English, she will be heading out on a UK tour next week, which will see her play the Good Neighbour in London on 8 July. As well as the music, Bryony is also the founder of the female collective 'GRRRL GROANNN!!!' inspired by the Riot Grrrl movement, which explains her main drive in music: “To make audiences think twice about the female artists they're listening to”. With a knack for writing frank and ambitious gritty alt-pop, this Midlands-based musician is one to watch out for in 2018. Currently independent, she is looking for a publishing deal, live agent and a manager.
