Following on from last April’s beautiful London EP release, RotD favourite JONES continues with her series of three EPs inspired by cities she loves with the release of New York today. Opening the collection is this gorgeous slice of piano-led neo-soul, produced and co-written by Charlie Hugall (Ed Sheeran, Florence & the Machine, Halsey). With its minimal production, the track and her vocals are allowed to breathe, effortlessly portraying a sense of hope inspired by JONES’ experiences within the city. Expect to hear this in Friday’s new release programming on streaming services, as well as any sensibly curated chilled R&B and soul playlists. But before that, she will be performing a live stream performance on Billboard.com later today (16:30 BST) and then tomorrow (June 27) she will be headlining the famous Rockwood Music Hall in NYC. With over 90m combined streams and tastemaker support from the likes of Radio 1, 1Xtra, Vogue, Nylon and the Line of Best Fit among others, Silver Screen is set to garner more praise as well as continue her swell of streams. Quite simply, this is another sumptuous and elegant release from JONES.
